Summary
My Old World is a personal collection tracker for Old World Christmas ornaments. We use your account data (via Clerk) for authentication and your collection data to save which ornaments you own. When you accept cookies, we use PostHog for analytics (page views, key events) to improve the app. When you decline cookies, we may record an anonymous "decline" event (instance count only, no personal data) to understand how often the choice is made.

Legal basis
We process your account and collection data under contract (to provide the service) and legitimate interest (to operate and secure the app). We process analytics data only with your consent, which you give via the cookie banner.
What we collect
Account data (email, name if provided) via Clerk; collection data (ornament IDs you own) stored in our database; and, when you consent, usage analytics (page views, ornament_added/removed events) via PostHog.
Retention
Account and collection data are retained while your account exists. You can delete your account via Clerk. Analytics data is retained by PostHog according to their policies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, port, object to, and restrict processing of your data. You may withdraw consent for analytics at any time via Cookie preferences. You may complain to a supervisory authority. For requests, use your Clerk dashboard or contact us at herb@cookwithherb.com.
International transfers
Clerk and PostHog process data in the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses) where required.

Identifiers (email, account ID); collection data (ornament ownership); and internet/usage data when you consent to analytics.

To provide the service, authenticate you, save your collection, and (with consent) improve the app via analytics.
